I've had a Lawnmower Blennie for about 3 months now. At first he would not eat from the water collum, however I had quite a bit of green hair and other micro algae for him to graze on. That has now dwindled. Just recently he has been eating from the water collum. However, now I notice his stomach fills and then shrinks almost daily. Obviously it's full after feeding. Is this acceptable for normal health for the Lawnmower Blennie? Or should I suppliment with some nori or other leafy green algae attached to a rock frag? Don't want to fowl up my tank with uneaten food.

Thanks,

Tom C.

Lawnmower Blenny

Hi Tom and welcome to Reef Frontiers! I too have a Lawnmower Blenny and I have also supplemented his diet with Nori If he isn't shy from you just hold a 2" by 2" piece and he will rake it apart with his mouth Resting on your hand. If you have a Tang or a Rabbit fish you may want a little larger piece as they will eat most of it good luck with your Lawnmower Blenny as for Nori i just use the hosi nori sold in safeway & Or albertsons ;)
