field trip to portland

i was talking to sean who owns waves, and he said if psas club members want to road trip down to portland that he would honor our 10% discount at his store, im going to talk with travis and bob(owners of upscales) about matching waves offer, and soutas as well... if they all agree, then im going to try to schedual a trip for any club members who wish to go. between those three stores i think people would be blown away by the selection and prices, those of you who have been to those stores knows what im talking about,
vastly superior to our local stores. so, if you've always wanted to check out the portland stores that you've heard about, this would be your chance!
i'll keep every one posted, im going to make more calls today. tell me what you guys think! who would be interested?

Portland stores

Mark & Dang you guys will have a great time these stores are where i get my corals and odd little inverts lots of good deals just have to shop for them Also Seahorse has moved to the new location so be sure to check out woodys website before going on down. Its a small world I am heading down to Portland as well save all the blue Sps for me!

Best days to get a hold Of Travis at Upscales is Thurs, Fri, Sat... I dont htink Bob would be too willing to do anything... Hit Travis up.. He is a bit more relaxed to put it nicely lol... There isnt too many people to compete with for Fridays rush at upscales... Saturday and Sunday are probably their busiest days... I would make it Saturday if humanly possible... he has been getting some Extremely Rare and nice stuff lately so bring the Platinum Card and Enjoy the lg acan frags and Micromussa frags for cheap (if he has any at that time) He had about 6 of each a few weeks back that were going for like 75-100 frag... Also had some really nice rainbow monti frags then too...

no, no, havnt gone yet, i am planning this for probably 3-4 weeks from now,
just wanted to get a head start on letting people know, and gaugeing interest. i guess i should start trying to plan for a specific day.

Back from Portland

Well Guys i didn't get a thing. Upscale does have 5 ea 3/8"-1/2" Oregon Blue tort frags for sale at 60$ each just a little to much for such a short piece or coral. They are running a special on Acropora colines buy one get the second for half price Had a couple of nice Blue Gomezies about 5" hi for 45$ thought that was a good buy as well. Waves had a ton of softies and LPS not much in the sps stuff My main quest was for some branching tonga looks like i will have to go to Spokane for that one Was at seahorse this Morning alot of fish,snails,and great advice

allright, i talked to bob at upscales, he's going to confer with travis tomorrow but said that he was pretty sure a 10% discount would be no problem.
also, i talked to rick at soutas,and he as well said that the 10% discount should be just fine, but would check with owner tonight to make sure.
so i think our discount on top of their already low prices we should be able to get some pretty awesome deals on some sweet corals or fish.
o.k. so far here's the skinny;
date: saturday july the 9th...not cast in stone
stores: soutas, waves, upscales.
discount: 10% off all livestock and drygoods
so far jamie, dang, brad, and myself have expressed interest, i would like to be able to get at least 10-12 people to go,... better for the stores.
all interested people should confirm here in this thread, after confirmation a few days before trip we can work out a carpool plan, that will make gas much more affordable.

Ahh very nice... Rick is actually the owner of Soutas... Sure it wasnt Justin over at soutas that you spoke with... soutas has some pretty steep prices so the 10% will be nice... Frags usually range from 20-100$ each... Its our most Expensive store here... I am pretty sure you will like what you find at all the stores around here..
