Fiji 2013

I just got back from Beqa Lagoon Fiji. I was there for 10 days and had a great time diving and snorkeling! Going to start off with fish pictures and as i progress getting the pics ready will post up other goodies. Enjoy guys!

WOW thank you so much for the pictures. I couldnt go without wanting to bring things back. Those red and purple carpet nems are gorgeous and the sps full of the green chromis pics are really cool!

That really made my day! Was the water really cloudy? I am not sure if it was the picture or the water making it seem cloudy.

That really made my day! Was the water really cloudy? I am not sure if it was the picture or the water making it seem cloudy.

Some days the water was really clear (usually calm days on surface) and others it was stirred up. Also it was a lot clearer on the barrier reef compared to in the lagoon

all corals and fish made it, lost every one of my clams though some sort of bacterial or viral infection wiped them out

There is a lot of broken coral in the wild from storms, people, boat anchors, etc. Most of the coral in really shallow waters (ie less then 10') tends to be brown especially in lagoons where there is a high silt content. The outer reef areas the water is a lot clearer and the corals and much more colorful. Ill post up some corals pics soon so you can see
As to where i was at.... I was in Beqa Island which is a small island south of viti levu. It is surrounded by a barrier reef and a lagoon inside (large lagoon several miles across)
