Filter opinion question

I have a 29 gal that i have a Emperor 400B biowheel filter hanging on the back. The filter does not collect any debris anymore and i was thinking about removing it. I have a prizm skimmer on the tank and NO PLENUM. Is this a bad idea or good idea? I do not have a sump or anything like that. Just biowheel filter and prizm skimmer w/ two aquaclear powerheads... Any opinions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

How much live rock do you have in the tank? That will serve as your biological filtration, too.

There is probably an easy 70 or so punds of fiji and tonga branch rock.. So you think that would be alright to do that?

You should be fine as long as you dont have a big bioload

right now i only have a yellow tang that i will be removing shortly to put in a larger 90 gal and 2 medium sized oeceleris clowns (sorry for the typo) and one medium sized gold stripe maroon clown... that's pretty much it.
