Firestone Pond Liner Reefsafe

That would depend on the materials used, for marine tank of any sorts you may have some issues.

I bought a house that came with a green house on the property. It is a pretty nice setup.

It has automated fans and heating. The heating would probably be very expensive to run in the winter. The greenhouse is single pain glass.

The pond liner would be for propagation vessels.

-or- even a reef pond.

I am putting all my tanks in the garage for now. It will probably be several months of research, testing, and building before I can get everything up and running.

That sounds awsome. Have you looked at potable liners like specialized epoxy paints etc. covering plywood?

Yes that is definitely a possibility. I have used sanitred before. It worked pretty nice (but was very pricy). I have read up on the garf.org plywood tanks.

Another thing I am considering using is Grave Liners. There are four of them on the property. They are being used as planters (I hope that is all). The problem is they are 2600 pounds each! They would have to be turned sideways then slid through a door opening with 1" clearance on each side. If I could somehow get them in the green house, then I would just have to seal them with an epoxy paint. They are 250 gallon each. It is almost ideal. Other then moving them.

Elcheapo Home Depot bath tubs make great green house tanks. You can hose them down with spray foam for insulation. My buddy uses them for koi tanks and plumbs the drain and overflow as a closed loop. They look real nice and the white disperses the light real nice.

Great Idea! Thanks.

Don, that's a great idea! I imagine it gets a few funny looks, but they are acrylic... If I didn't just buy a couple of the food grade pallet tanks from acrodesiac I'd be looking at HD or Second Use or someplace like that.

I've heard good things about the grave liners in greenhouses on some of Anthony Calfo's forums, but they are usually set in place, and THEN the greenhouse gets installed. Who knows, it may be easier to get a tractor to place the liners how you want them, then reassemble the greenhouse. Just thinking outside the box a bit. Maybe a good idea, maybe it would take ten times as long!

Sounds like a fun project!
