Hi all -

Our 180 gallon glass tank should be arriving soon and we are going to need help getting it into our small house. We live out in North Bend. The tank could arrive as soon as this weekend, I will know more tomorrow. It isn't a pleasant job, but we could use the help. Would anyone be willing to donate their backs and their sense of humor?

Thanks, Samantha and Jeff

Congratulations on your new tank :)

I am in for helping out. When you get more details send me a PM.

Hi all -

I really appreciate the responses.

First and most important...yes there will be pizza and beer. ;)

We are not any more certain of a delivery day than we were last night. I would guess if the tank was coming today (delivery days tend to be Fridays), we would know by now, so maybe more like a week or so?

We will be keeping in touch. Thanks again.

Samantha and Jeff

Thanks again for all the responses. As of Friday, we still don't have a date. We are getting more of the other parts in we ordered for the setup, so that is exciting!

We will keep in touch. Hopefully soon,

Samantha and Jeff

Update on tank!

Hi again -

This jinx tank has been a bit of a hassle, but the word is, it is on a 3 day freight truck now, and we are looking at maybe a move on this Saturday (Dec. 6th).

Here is the added update...it is now a 215 gallon. Glass. It is heavy. I will be forever grateful for the help. Pizza and beer will definitely be provided.

Let me know who is free on Saturday. I really appreicate it. And cross your fingers that it actually goes this time.

Thanks, Samantha and Jeff

Reefers are such geeks....they'll do anything to get near someone's tank.... :D

Hi everyone -

I hope you are all surviving the power outage and the storm. We still don't have power, but expect it later today. I just pm-ed those that expressed availability to move the tank, but I understand if some of you have household problems to deal with right now.

If you are available on Saturday to help with the move (for now it is still on), give us a call:

425 831 7906
(currently at library and answering machine is out with the power, call later if you can help).

The important info is that we are in North Bend and that this is a 215 gallon glass tank.

Thank you so much, Samantha and Jeff.

OK all, this is the first time I have been able to look at the news in a few days and the damage in the area sounds really bad, if this is a bad weekend, we can go for another weekend.

Hope to hear from people soon. Hope to have e-mail at my own house soon.

Samantha and Jeff

I can't help out this weekend, but I'm available next weekend if you don't get it moved. Shoot me an email if you need help.

Gordon

OK, thanks Gordon. We did hear that the tank came in today so if we don't pull it off this weekend (we are still really hoping) then I will talk to you about next week. I hope your fish did OK. We have had a couple of fresh water deaths...so sad, but we are hoping the rest make it OK.

Thanks, Samantha and Jeff

(oh, and we just got power)

By the way, it is looking like they will be out here at 11am with the tank on Saturday, so that would be about the start time. We are a couple miles off 1-90 in North Bend, off Mt. Si. Road.

darn. I guess I will have to withdraw my offer to help as I'm just not going to be available :-(

It's gotta be more fun than doing dump runs of old furniture though, which is where I'll be.

Heidi

Thats OK Heidi, I understand, this was last minute. It will be sort of fun. Not really the lifting, just the gazing on it afterwards. ;)

Our new tank is finally here!

So the tank is here and no one got hurt! Blue Sierra really helped us out here and pulled together a good crew (at least one guy from Factoria fish gallery) to move this amazingly heavy tank. I really have to thank them for all of the help with this order. Cy really did a great job with the entire order and following through with the order considering it took the tank manufacturer 3 tries to get this tank out.

At 215 gallon, I was hearing estimates that it was about 700lbs. The glass is so thick that there is no bracing in the middle, which was a bit surprising. I have attached a picture, which I know is a little boring since there is nothing in it yet...but the potential!
