I really like my flame angel, but he is into picking at my LPS. Is this normal? Do I just need to move him out of my coral tank?

Thanks,
Ray

The Dwarf Angelfishes are unreliable with immobile invertebrates. Some fish leave them alone, others will pick. Once you have a 'picker' it will continue. If the LPS is being harmed, then they will need to be separated.

windwaterwaves, hiya local :)
I hope your flame doesnt continue picking, I just recently added a coral beauty angel myself.

nice to see other local reefers :)

Of the dwarf angels which I'm quite fond of, have found Coral Beauties to be the most prone to picking and pygmy cherubs to be the safest. Flames are in between. I have never had good luck with them being reef safe, but have seen others do fine.

I have a pair of flames in my tank, and so far they haven't bothered any of my LPS. But I do feed heavily which might explain why I havent had any issues.
