Flame Wrasee - Madarin Compatibility

So I have 2 more fish on my wish list - Flame Wrasse and a Mandarin.
My fear is that they Wrasse may out compete with the Mandarin for pods. The tank has been up 6 months and the fuge came from a well established tank that had been up for a couple of years. I have tons of pods and tiny shrimp that can be seen swimming around in the fuge and tank at night
My setup:

• 80 gallon display
• 20 gallon fuge with 4" DSB, Cheato, LR rubble
• 29 gallon sump
• 90 lbs of LR between the display and sump and misc LR rubble.

Current fish livestock:

• 2 - A. Ocellaris Clowns
• Royal gramma
• Potters Angel
• Tailspot Blenny
• Fire Dartfish

Thoughts?

most mandarins and wrasses will eat the prawn roe, barrier reef usually stocks it.
i have yet to see a fish not eat it...and the mandarin i had ate it readily.

Good to know. I was planning on having something in my feeding regimine to supplement so that some great info. Thanks dude!

I don't see any problems with it since my Mandarin & McCoskers Flasher do not compete for the same food source, Mandarin eats the pods & Flasher eats frozen Mysis, bloodworm & brineshrimp. I do see a potential problem with the Royal Gramma asserting itself over a Flasher Wrasse though IME. A Sixline or Fourline would be a different story also.

dude, my gramma is a punk! All show and no go. He likes to act tough but when it comes down to it he just hangs upside down in the back of the tank under a rock. He's been a lot more mellow in my 80 than he was in my 40. Funny thing is, him and the Potter's are kinda buds. But he won't really admit it.

The Flasher Wrasses are more like Anthias than other small Wrasses and tipically stay high up in the water column and ignore the tiny pods that the Mandarin will focus on. Speaking of odd couples My Flasher gouged its eye in a feeding frenzy the other day and my Tailspot Blenny was his seeing eye dog for most of the recovery period seldom more than an inch away and always on the injured eye side. Even protecting him from my Flame Hawk who showed no such compassion.

Shouldn't be a problem. I actually have a flame wrasse and a mandarin and have had zero issues.
