Flow through the skimmer???

How do you determine the amount of flow throught the skimmer?

For a recirculating skimmer? You need 1.5x the tank volume to be pumped by the feed pump.
What kind of skimmer do you have?

i use a tom aquatics flow meter so i know when i need to clean the pump or if anything is hampering the water flow to the skimmer. i use a gate valve in conjunction so i know how much flow is going to the skimmer

My buddy built it for me, its a monster, with beckett injectors. I'll take some pics and post them here in the next little bit.

You don't need high flow through the skimmer, a slow steady supply will give it time to recirc more & increase contact time. You can adjust this until you get a good wet skimmate, wet is good If you can keep up with the extra fluid removal.
