I have a 140 oceanic 48x24x30 do I go closed loop or tunze streams. I look to keep sps with a few lps. I already know that inital cost is cheaper for cl but Ill
use more watts with the cl. But the real question is flow The cl would be poweredby a reef dart So what's the general feeling on this

I run aa small CL (950 gph) a sea-swirl at about 750 gph and (2) Tunzes at 1600 gph and 1850 gph. I thought about getting a sequence pump to do a bigger CL, but opted for the Tunzes. I don't think you can go wrong with the dart though...Just my opinion. BTW, That's a funny avitar you have there:lol:

tunzes are more flexible for placement, flow way more than you could thru a cl and you can set up a wavemaker with several pumps. the drawback is you see them, and more pumps to clean and harder to get to for the maintainance. i still think the tunzes are a better way to go. what about the vortech? they would be easier to get to for cleaning? and variable speed! also heard a RUMOR about a similar product coming soon!

Im waiting for the vortechs to be released to gather some info on them as well as the phantom controller for them

Well I run 2 Eheim 1262's on CL , Both with a SCWD Wavemaker. They are on my 200 it works really well , Low watts and good flow.
