Ok, So i've got my frag tank up and going but am trying to figure out how to do my temp frag rack. I'm wanting to do 3 tiers (for lighting adjustment). Ive got the eggcrate all cut out but am unsure how to do the legs. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Tom

Hey Tom, here's what my frag tank looks like.
Originally I was going to do tiers too, but my main tank was so crowded that I had to house a couple large pieces in the frag tank.

might be a little bulky for what you're looking for...but I've seen folks use 1/2" PVC to make frames for the eggcrate to sit on.

I was thinking about using that. How did they attach the pvc to the eggcrate though?

Caitlin, what did you use for the legs of your largest rack?

My husband cut eggcrate to size for legs and zip tied them. There's 4" of room between edge of eggcrate and glass for cleaning. I have live rocks under. There are 2 small pumps wedge in the back corners to blow out detritus. Returns are also in the back corners but blowing out towards front.

Good idea. I got some 1/2" today and got the bottom set of legs done. Didn't realize how much actual linear feet of pipe I would need to build it all for 3 tiers 4" apart.

Caitlin: Thanks for the info. That frag tank looks great! sure wish I could get my corals to grow like yours!
