From Halides To T-5's

Hey all, Just got the light bill and it almost killed me so now I want to downgrade from 2 400w to t-5's but don't want to spend alot on it. I seen someone selling a t-5 setup where they were using an 8 bulb setup with workhorse 5 ballast, Now if I can do that it would be fine. My setup consist of lps, softies, clams, and some frags of monties. The tank is 60"x18"x20" , can someone tell me if I need a bigger ballast to run 60" bulbs or will the WH5 be fine.

Unfortunately, I don't think you'll be able to fit 8 bulbs over an 18" tank. I run a Tek5 6 bulb unit over my 75 gallon and it pretty much covers the entire tank. The extra 2 bulbs would stick out the front and back of the tank, which would defeat the purpose.

there is an 8 banger out there that will sit on a 75 only 48 not 60. reefbound has one on his tank but can't remember who makes it.
