are there any reprocutions from giving anemones frozen food that is still frozen. its not that im lazy or anything but more food would get to him if i could just give them a frozen cube rather than pouring a cup full of dethawed. i know the turkey baster mothod, but just cant ever remember to pick one up.

Would YOU enjoy a mouth full of frozen peas????

My Anemones enjoy raw Shrimp, Squid, Scallops... as well as the Silversides that I get from PetCo. By feeding them this instead of trying to mess with the frozen cubes, I know they are getting the entire thing, and its not as much of a hassel, just thaw, drop on them... and they wrap around it.

Hope that helps.

This works for me, freeze dried krill. Soaked in vitachem, or selecon, or just the water in the tank. Make a feeding stick from hard airline tubing cut to a point or big enough to stick the krill in. I dont think I would feed it frozen, I know they are matched to the temp of the water and cold slows their metabolizem. To expensive to mess with. You could always collect up damsels no body wants and feed them. Evil Grin. JMHO Steve

hahahahaha, Ed you got a point. i dont like dethawed peas either. its just that the current is really strong and when i pour, it all whipps away from him towards the overflow. i guess when i aimed all my powerheads to allow all ditrius to be pushed towards the overflow, i wasnt thinking of feeding and keeping it all in the tank for a few minutes. ill just feedem the damsel in my sump.lol

I feed one of my brains somewhat frozen formula 1. He goes crazy for it so I assume that its fine... I just try to thaw it as much as I can in a minute or so. If its thawed too much then it starts to break up a bit before the brain finishes eating.

do you know what a food fence is? its a little plastic square attached to a string which is attached to a suction cup. you attach the suction cup to the glass, and drop food in the square and it just gfloats in the same place. well, i like to put a frozen cube of mixed goodies in the squre and it just dethaws and allows food to dispurse slowly. well the clown swims up, grabs the cude(still frozen)_ and brings it down to the anemone. thats what concerns me. i will stop that seeing you guys have a point. Im gonna go eat a bag of frozen peas. mmm i lovem.

Hey... if your anemone is looking happy and healthy... DON'T SWEAT IT!!! They all addapt to various things, just like their owners. (I happen to not mind peas... as long as they aren't frozen, and ya drench them in real butter!)
