Good day,

I am looking into a lighting solution to my new 'fuge in my sump. The 'fuge portion is: 12L x 24D x 17H - 21.1 gallons.

I am trying to decide if I should go for a Coralife "marine" setup with 1x 65W Coralife 10,000K and 1x 65W Coralife Actinic Compact Fluorescent Lamps or the freshwater version with two 65 watt 6700°K.

I plan on growing primarily Chateo, so my question is... does Chateo care at all about Actinic light? Would I get more growth all around with 10K, or 6.7K?

Opinions welcome!

Cheers,

Chris

6.5 or 6.7 will get you more growth. Actinics are just for looks and are not needed.

Go to Lowes and buy two Sylvania Daylight 23W CF's 6500K; $8 each. And get two ol' school clamp lights with reflectors while you're there; $15 each. My chaeto rages in a 20g. Doubles nearly weekly. Nitrates, phosphates zero! Got to have flo though.

go to costco and buy the light box they have, cost is 9.00 comes with a PC light 6.5k housing everything. I think the name was All American Lighting, can't beat the pkg.
