Hey all!

Well I added a 40 gallon fuge today to my system. Now I have a 110G tank, 30G sump and a 40G fuge.
Well I got it all plumbed in and running smoothly.

I just fed my fish, coral what not about 5 minutes ago.
I look into my new 40G empty fuge and see a lot of the food I just fed floating around in there.
The way I set it up does not allow food to pass into my sump. (I plan on having a fish in there to keep future sand-rock clean.) which is the reason I set it up to not pass food.
Well that made me think-
I have been battling alga's for a long time now and do you think the quick passing of food through the overflow is causing my algae problems?
I CAN NOT shut down the return pump to feed. Causes a load of problems.

What do you suggest to do? Will my future fish in the fuge eat it all up and help with my algae problems? Or do I need to take another approach?

Of course THANKS!!

Only if you buy one of those special non pooping fish or stick a cork in his.... well you get the point.

I would work on feeding less, maybe sinking foods. Personally I would look at why you cant use a feeding timer or shut down your sump.

I'll second the Sinking pellet type food suggestion. Formula 1 and 2 both come in sinking pellet form which should help you out.

Ok when I shut down my return pump I loose my CO2.
The reactor is fed off the pressure side of the return pump. When the pump is off it dumps all the CO2 into the reactor at one time.
Not too stable for the reactor or my tank.
My CO2 is working against the pressure of the pump.
