Hey guys glad to became a new member a site that has alot of local members. I decided to remodel my basement the day after x-mas last year and when looking at the layout I stared at what would be just a large bare wall when it came to me that a reef tank would look awesome there and happens to have a storage room behind the wall so there could be no limits. I got out of the hobby a couple years ago when my wife went back to school and I worked out of town alot now that she is done it is time to enjoy the hobby again she didn't like the idea but oh well she is very forgiving. I bought a used 150gl tank setup that had a few things I could use. I resealed the inside corners, then drilled the tank for a overflow box and supply lines. The center glass support blocked access to my tank so I removed it and had it cut into 3 pieces and re-installed it now I have some room to get access to the box. Then on St Patty's day I purchased a 125gl stocked and running tank to get me a jump start and it had alot of equitment I needed to get this setup finished. Buying the stocked tank gave me a big jump start and helped me bypass a cycling proccess. after a mini cycle happened I was ready to anything. Everything survived the move and came out great it was a long day and major job but well worth it. It may take me awhile to post pics but I will as I have time. Enjoy

lucky it was good timing week after getting 150gl up and running came accross an old friend selling everything in a 75gl tank for an awesome buy and it was enough to finish off the live rock work and came with alot of different corals softies leather and cabbage and misc. polyps so now it doesn't look so empty

got the trim done around the tank glued some of the cabbage leather to the pvc pipe rack to hide the pipe

Wow, what a beautiful tank. I wish I had the kind of vision to landscape like that! Also a wall to fill with a tank!

By the way, what kind of anemone is this?

I am not really sure it came with the contents of the 75gl I purchased but looks like a type of condylactis. It has more than doubled in size since I owned it I don't feed them the clowns love going back and forth between the 4 think ones a rose then, 2 bubble tip, and the condy but stay away from the rock anemone or that is what I was told it was anyways

What??? you have more than one anemone???? i thought its just the BTA at the back... I saw three diff kinds? super jealous..

One....

Its a cheap off brand hood with 3-250W metal halides then 4-96W power compacts then 6 led moonlights but works great no complaints had to due some rebuilding on it when I first got it

WOW! :welcome: What a geat leap back into the Reefkeeping hobby. Very nice aquascaping, great job on the remodeling as well.

Cheers, Todd

Thanks for all the great postive feed back. I want to thank aquanaut I made a visit to her today and she gave a me a great deal on a reactor and then I couldn't go home empty handed so she hooked me up with some great pieces THANKS

Now I need room so if there is anyone that lives close I need to trade this rock with a large finger leather on it, its getting stung by an anemone and it also has think a couple of green hairy mushrooms on it and cabbage leather also a great center piece I just looking for a bare piece of live rock to take its place maybe a softball to mini basketball size with nothing on it. ASAP

Thanks. Ya I thought you might be close when she said her house bordered Kent. Just wish I could have got the anemone for you. Things might move around now that I had to move rock around to make room for the new additions I will keep you posted

Nice setup looks like everything has filled in nicely. Question for you in your sump pic's you have what looks like 2 low towers and 1 tall tower with once of the shorter having a pressure gauge what are those?

That is a lifeguard filter system the chamber with the gauge has a filter and the gauge lets me know when to change it and the other is a media chamber I run carbon in and the tall one is a UV sterilizer. It also had another chamber which holds a heater but I didn't need it so I removed it.
