Right now I have a BM250 skimmer which requires 5-10" of water to work properly. However, I am not going to to stick with this skimmer for long. What is a generic height I should make my skimmer baffle in my sump?

In other words, what height of water do most skimmer require for a 180 gallon system. I can always build a stand to raise the skimmer up.

depending on how big the skimmer is, could be up to 10". If your water level is at 10" and your skimmer works best at 8 or 9" you can build a platform to set it on. If your water level is only 8" and the skimmer works best at 9 or 10" you will have to add height to you baffle.
I would go with which ever would be easiest for you to adjust.

I can check when I get home, but I believe my baffle for my skimmer on the 180 is set at 10".
