I was wondering if there is a workaround so that when my gfci plugin is tripped that it will automatically turn back on? A couple of times over the past week my gfci was tripped which ultimately turned the power off to my tank even though the power to my house was still functioning. Is there something I can do to prevent this from cutting power to my tank all day long while I'm away at work?

Is there something else that I could use instead that would do what I'm looking at doing?

Thank you in advance for any tips or suggestions.

If it is tripping then you have a problem and its doing its job.
My recommendation is that you use 2 or more GFCI outlets and separate some of your equipment to determine what piece is giving you the problem. The outlets can not be run in series or you will have the GFCI's working against each other.

That also depends on how old the GFCI, just like a fuse or circuit breaker the contacts can become weak and pop. I would still check to see if there is moisture getting into something it shouldn't be, and check to see when it is popping. It could be that your heater is turning on and shorting it out. So these are all things to think about. If it is that then you need to isolate everything on that circuit until you are certain it is not something shorting. Then go down to Home Depot and purchase a new outlet. If you have a multi meter you can pretty much read out the resistance of your heaters or power heads. If you have known good ones you can reference the readings off of the known good ones to get a target reading.

And what ever you do don’t just do away with the GFCI. You have something malfunctioning and now is not the time for bypassing things. This is too serious of a thing to take lightly.
