glass thickness?

When building a custom sized tank is there an easy way to calculate what thickness of glass should be used? Thanks in advance.

Being Since I Worked In The Glass Industry For Years As A Glass Cutter. It Would Be Difficult To Find Anything Over 3/16 To 1/4 In Thick. I Believe The Last Price Quote Which Was Last Sept Was Over $9.00 A Square Foot. It Cost More Than Acrylic Does.
