Gracilaria macroalgae

Hey guys my tank is starting to be a tang tank. They love eating sheets of Algae but I was thinking about giving them Live Gracilaria. Does anyone have experience with growing it? I found an excelent Article from 2009 http://reefbuilders.com/2009/10/17/propagating-gracilaria-for-fun-and-food/. But in the article they don't talk about growing in a refugium which is what I was thinking about doing. Any thoughts would be great!


On a side note does anyone know where I can get some locally, ie the puget sound area? I have looked at 3 different websights and would rather not spend 10-15$ on shipping for a 3 inch clump of the stuff. OR does anyone have any available?

i have three macro algaes available. green sea weed, red geometric, and maybe a lil red dragons breath marco algae.

Friend of mine feeds his tangs (Yellow, purple and powder brown) nothing but the dragons breath. They are fat and happy.
