Sigh, I hate macs, they are soo much slower than a custom pc! I also hate the people who make the programs for mac and wont allow windows or linux users to have it, and If they did make it open for more operating systems, then they would make more money, its really messed up how people think in this world...

Not saying your mac is slow or anything, its just it doesnt have much performance like a custom pc, because with a custom pc, you can upgrade certain components, and pick out the components you want.

and i hate to dispute SWT here but guess you've never compared the power of a G5 with either an Intel or AMD processor. Also the Mac OS is superior to Windows XP. It's light years ahead of Windows.

I will just say one thing, my mac has never had any spy ware, or viruses. Oh and why do you have to custom build a pc to compete with a mac, a mac is great out of the box.

For a custom made pc, you can easily have an amd processor. And I must say, the G5 graphics card compared to other graphics card isnt as good. Also, the price difference is crystal clear, making your own comp is sooo much cheaper, and better! Save alot of money that you can put towards the tank!

Also the power g5 comes with a geforce fx5200. There are graphic cards that can easily kick the geforce fx 5200. I have the fx5200 and ive had it for like 1.5-2years, ever since it was new.

if I wanted to I could buy this and hook it up within 2 min. Another thing to consider, is when you get a custom comp, you can build it yourself and leard how to put on diferent upgrades. Do you know how long the geforce fx5200 graphics card has been out? The power g5 is soo much more expensive, this comp was about $600 and it has an amd athlon processor, geforce fx5200 graphics card with dual monitors, and a modified case with 6 neon fans. Heck, my dads laptop is 3.5ghz, and the apple power mac with dual power pc g5 processors is only 2.0ghz, and my dads laptop was alot cheaper, around 900-1000 bucks. Ive had this comp for about 2 yrs, I bet this whole setup now would be like $400 bucks, and it is very fast for the cost. I could easily buy a new custom pc that easily compares to the g5 for less than half the price.

jaredly, just cuz you dont have spyware and adwar does NOT have anything to do with your comp. Soon there will be hackers to easily penetrate mac os x's operating system and make your life a living hell, thats what hackers do. Sorry for arguing, but for the power g5, you are soo getting ripped off, compared to you getting a custom pc and have the same components, and even better for way lesss than a g5 costs.

There is more to a computer then speed. The usiablily of OS X is mush better then XP, at least tell me you are using firefox and not IE.

Microsoft hasn't made any major improvements to IE in what....2 or 3 years? hard to believe that IE doesn't even have TABS for different windows.

Naw... Im stupid and I use IE so I can get all the viruses on the internet and have porn all over my computer! I especially love the sound it makes! URRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! Yea right, IE sucks soo bad, of course I have mozilla firefox, who wouldnt? hehe, its like that AOL commecrial, although I hate aol

Macs are great for different purposes - it all depends on what your goals are. I love my iMac - and have been thrilled with it. My little one also knows how to work on both computers (pc & Mac).

Couldn't agree more with Nikki...mac isn't better than PC and PC isn't better than mac. It's all based on personal preference and what you are doing. Speed is also based on what you do. Macs come with SCSI drives making data transfer faster in most cases. The very high end graphics cards that you are talking about SWT are only necessary for gamers. For those of us that need to crunch numbers or do graphic design work, a good (not top of the line) graphics card is plenty. And if you are a high end graphic designer, odds are you are on a mac. They just work better with programs from Adobe Systems. It's a fact. I use a mediocre PC and Adobe Creative Suite both at work and home and would kill for a mac every time I start up those programs.

Why do I enter into these debates anyway?!?!?

My dad is running autocad on his laptop, autocad is what they use to make air conditioning, and pipelines and all that building work.
