i've noticed a few patches of green algae on the back and sides of my tank.

I have about 5 turbo snails but they seem to be ignoring it. Any advice about getting rid ? I was thinking of scrubbing it away with a clean sponge

What type of algae is it?
Can you post a pic?
Depends on what type it is as to why you have it and how to get rid of it.
Could be cyano, hair algae, coraline, or other macro/nuisance algae

As Lorrie suggested, post a pic. With most algae, scrubbing it will release spores into the tank which will cause it to spread into other areas. Best to positively ID the algae first to figure out the best way to manually remove it. :)

Lol...i just scub it off. Figure its coral food if its floating in the water. One thing you could do, fish stocking permitting, is buy a brissle tooth tang like a kole. Likes to leave lil kisses on the tank walls...lol
