Does Hair Algae Look Like Green Cotton Balls Broken into little pieces and spread out all over the place?

Do many bubbles get caught inside?

matt, anyway to post a picture? I always think of hair algae as looking like hair growing. I'll see if I can track down a picture...

Here is a pic of my tank when I had a really bad hair algae problem. It looks like strings of green hair sticking straight up. All the patches it was growing on had a lot more debris around it then elsewhere in the tank and I took extra care cleaning those patches.

Here is another closer short of it as well, this is when it first starts to appear. It's kinda fuzzy looking because it's very fine.

Thanks for posting those Michelle! I'm glad your issues are gone!

Yea, Thats The Stuff!

I Droped 3 turbo snails in - along with a squad of hermits - and

the hair is almost gone. I need to get my camera into action.

Thanks for the pics.
