Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!I had been out of the hobby for 6-7 years when the bug finally bit me again. My last reef went "down in flames" with a Planaria outbreak that wouldn't go away. I literally gave everything away that was related to aquariums so starting over has been rather expensive, but this time I've wanted to do thing right. I picked up a lightly used 29 gallon Biocube and proceeded to gut the thing. All filtration was replaced, and all lighting was replaced. I contacted the nice folks at rapidled.com and with their help came up with an efficient replacement to metal halide. Oh yeah, one important detail I forgot. For the first time I started this tank with a plan in mind. I wanted it to run as efficiently as possible (cheaply) and to rely on captive raised species wherever possible. All of my corals are frags from captively kept parent colonies. My two Ocellaris clowns were captive raised, and the majority of my "misc. sealife" came from GARF grunge that was added. So far I'm seeing pretty awesome growth in the SPS corals, which amazes me in a 3 month old tank, but knock on wood, I think this is going to be the tank that makes everything look easy!
