Do you guys know of any cleaners for Hair Algae? Blue hermit crabs?? Turbo snails??

CUC's are only a temp fix, you need to find out where the excess nutrients are coming from. A phosphate reactor will do wonders, are you using tap water or RO/DI water?

Im using TAP.. The funny thing is that it all started when I used RODI water but that could have been just coincidence..

check levels of nitrate, phosphate and Mg..TAP water is the mostly likely the cause of your HA...any amount of CUC will not rid your HA...just temporarily fix..

I would do a 35-50% WC for starters and start using RO/DI water; then start doing weekly small WC until your levels of nitrates or phosphates is under control...depending on how much HA you have, this will not be a over the night fix....takes time...

want remove the algae just prevent the nutrients from existing that cause the algae to grow...depending on how bad it is, you might have to hand pick the algae from the rock, otherwise, you will wait months before it is gone.

Do you have a fuge? If so you may want to run some chaeto in there. If you dont have one you can always run it in your display. This will also heklp as chaeto will out compete the GHA for nutrients.

For us an urchin helped a ton. Moving everything to the larger tank with a sump has helped quite a bit also.

I changed to RO water and did water changes every other day. I also got a rabbitfish, purple tang and more hermies. That was 2 months ago and my hair algae is gone.
