Hi REEFERS, just bought Tammies' 210. Any GOOD ideas how to move it from her place to ours? Our acrylic was easy cus it's plastic, but I am very nervous about trying to move a glass 210. Any help would be greatly appreciated. When I get it home I hope to post a build thread as we go.
Rich.

Hey Rich, Congrats! and you'll need 4 strong backs a truck/trailer with flat/level bed and for ease in setting down/picking up place a few stickers (short lengths of 2x4 or ?) cross-wise to tank to allow room for fingers. There are several RF members in your area that could be bribed into helping with a cold beverage*

Cheers, Todd

P.S. Are there any bulkheads on bottom to deal with ??? Pics might be nice.

same as you would the acrylic. only things you have to be careful of with the glass tank is:
1) When you get it into the truck/van it will be transported in, make sure it's sitting as it would on a stand. bottom side down, and try and make sure the most of the bottom possible it supported. If your really worried. put something like foam under it.
2) bring some help. lol my 125g glass tank took me and one other very strong body to get into the house.
a 210 I would suggest a minimum of 4 people all able to lift 100# without a problem.
3) take your time in the move. don't rush anything and break something. figure out where it's going to go. how it will have to be brought in so that it faces the right way when you get it to where you want it. hard to turn tanks like this around in most houses. lol
4) Once the stand is in it's place. don't forget to LEVEL IT! and I'm sure you know you might have to re-level once you fill with water :)

Just think it threw, glass isn't less strong than acrylic. you just have to worry about stressing the seems more ;)

GL on the move.

Oh Wow. Id love to have a 200 gl tank. Good luck with the move. Cant wait to see the build pics.
And welcome!

When we start the teardown of our 180 I have a 3yr. old VERY healthy hippo tang that needs to go to a good home. He is fond of rearranging things in the tank. He steels food from the anenomies and all the corals. Moves clams, so he needs a FOWLR home. If interested let me know.
