The Montipora corals are among the best for starter SPS corals. Strong to moderate lighting, good water flow/quality, and mineral levels near NSW will give good results. When placing the coral keep in mind it will soon shade anything below it. One of the fastest growing stony corals @ .5-1"/month. Be Sure there is enough flow over it to prevent detritus buildup on its surface.
