help with purple ricordea

I picked up some purple ricordea about a month ago put them near the top of the tank and they started doing good, then I put a couple of more powerheads in the tank they started to look a little funny closing up and stuff, so i moved them to a place with lower water flow and the same amount of light, and one melted away and the rest are not looking as healthy as they could be. Today I moved them lower in the tank where they where still in low water flow hoping maybe they just wanted less light. Does anyone have any idea's of what else it could be, all of my other colors of ricordea are doing great and my sps are flurishing, other softies and zoanthids are doing great as well.

I would leave it low and give it a chance to recover.You can always feed it some mysis shrimp to boost its strength.

What kind of lighting do you have and how far are the Ric's from the light source. More commonly these kinds of species do better in lower "reef" lighting and low flow. Often midway or lower. If MH light (you mention SPS's), they should be as close to the substrate as possible. Especially when first adding to the tank.

How's the color? Faded or similar to when you first aquired them?

I am currently running T5's and when i first put them in the tank they where about 6" away from the top. the colors actually bleached right of the way i was assuming that was from the iodine dip i do on all new corals i recieve and the colors started to slowly look better until about a week or so ago and they started to look like they where shrivelling up and now are looking alot better today with them towards the bottom of the tank.

Leaving them there would probabley be your best option. Just be sure they're not close to any nearby corals as well.
