Hey all.
So I got my tank set up and it has been a month. Lots of live rock and sand. The protein skimmer will come as soon as I have the funds.
All my test levels are perfect and ready for my first Fish/Fishes. Any suggestions? I will also be starting Corals when I get the funds and upgrade my lights.
My friend is think of surprising me with a blue spotted jaw fish. Is this bad for my first fish? Am I jumping into the deep end to fast with this fish? I have always wanted one and it is in my top 5 fish that I wanted. (Well had to narrow down the list when I decided to do Corals. I really wanted a trigger and eel. Maybe next tank.)

I looked at Chromis and they did nothing for me. And I am not new to fish tanks. I have kept alive my fresh water fish for many years. I know salt water is totally different but just wanted to put out there that I don't neglect my tank.

(my first post, be gentle.)

Welcome to Reef Frontiers!!

More information about your tank will help us give you better advice.
Size of tank
Types of corals you plan to get
Amount of flow
etc.

As much information as you can provide, will enable the most advice.

Oh BTW, there are a few Triggers that are reef safe, but it'll depend on the size of your tank and future fish that you plan to add.

The tank is 55 gallons. I am not really sure what kind of Corals yet. But have kicked around Polyps and mushrooms as a start. Down the Road SPS hard corals.
Will have to get back to you on the flow. My roomate let me borrow something but forget the brand and model.

Thanks guys for the responce.

While this doesn't help at all, I just wanted to compliment on your centerpiece and overall tank design. We will be looking forward to more pics. :)

Yes very nice start
If your tank is cycled a nice goby and shrimp pair would be fun to watch as would be a trio of anthias
If I were you stick with small fish and then you can have more of them rather than a few bigger fish.
I really likeing jawfish and the midus blennie.
BTW don't get mushrooms if you plan on SPS in the future..
