I bought a carpet anemone and thought it was green but now it has turned brown. The mouth is green and the foot is green but the carpet is brown. Is their something I can do.

I have had this tank for about 6 months. The anemone is right under a metal hal light. PH level is at 8.4. The anemone looks vary healthy it just changed color. Is their something I should be feeding. This is my first tank.

And what lighting was it under when you bought it. Might be more lighting than it was used to and is having a zooanthellae bloom (symbiotic algae) and will regain it's color when settled in. Here are some things that are good to know when keeping corals and invertebrates.

Alkalinity as in DKh
Calcium
Magnesium
Ph
Salinity as in Sg
temperature
Some others that can help diagnosis such as phosphates, age and type of bulbs, water flow, quantity of live rock, type filtration, water change frequency.

dont keep track of how much you spend on your tank,
keep track of how many days you can go without spending any money
I'm on Day 1:D
