Haha - New challenge - Do you have an SLR but only have the stock lens??

Here's what I can do until I convince Santa or the income tax refund fairy to upgrade me :)

Equipment: Canon EOS Rebel XTI
Lens: 18-55
Aperture open, ISO 400-800, auto white balance & photoshop since my 18K lights make everything cold and blue
Tripod

Man, you guys are making me want an SLR! Great pics... I love the one of the clown. Maybe Santa will get me one for Christmas :eek2:. Oh, wait, I am Santa .

One of these days. All my money's been going into the aquariums lately, so by the time all my frags grow out, maybe I'll have a nice camera!!!

i know i'm just jealous. i have an dslr and my pictures are so rough i dont even bother posting
I took nearly 200 pics to get 10 that I liked. I photoshopped half of those to get the white balance to look more real..........The hippo tang photo was one of those rare lucky shots that can go straight to the web.

haha - and mine are cropped maybe 25% - i have a bad habit of taking pics in the way I want them to ultimately be seen instead of planning for cropping

except for the hectors since that fish is tiny as it is, and the closed brain coral, I actually took 3 photos and spliced them together to get 1 congruent clear photo of most of the body of the coral.... 10 minutes and whalah! its like I know what I'm doing

WOW, I had to go back aways and dig through some EXIF data to find pics I'd taken with my kit lens. I shoot with a Canon Rebel Xt and the kit lens is an 18-55. Here's a few.

I'll keep digging and find some more. I'm actually surprised at how many I've taken with the kit lens. Lately, all my pics are with the 100mm Macro.
