I was givin one of those little hex tanks that you can buy from walmart. they have the light and filter and stuff in the hood. well i drilled 3 holes in it and plummed it into my main system. But the lighting is not enough. so im wondering where i can find a good cheao little light. i'd be opn to even taking the top off of it.

I've seen a number of folks use a flourescent spiral bulb (6500k) from Lowes/Home Depot in a desk lamp for Chaeto.

There are some other DIY things you could do if you didn't want to take off the hood. PM me or reply and I can outline another option should you be interested.

Sorry. This response is assuming this is for Chaeto/refugium lighting. Regular tank lighting is another deal altogether.

I started into the saltwater world with a 6 gallon eclipse and used 13W PC lights, actinic and daylight ones (you can buy them online). If you can find the ballast and sockets, you can wire them yourself and it should fit and work great as a nano tank!
