New to this place..

I use to have a 46 bow salt water tank a long time ago.. I have decided to get back into it again. This time I am going with a tall 70 gallon and a sump set up.. I had a hang on back last time and it just did not do as well as I hoped. I am also going with LED lighting on this round. Any help would be great. I have the tank the lighting and a over flow, sump tank and sump light and return pump, heater and one hydro power head. goal is to run hard and soft corals and emenimes and fish.

******Like I said any help would be great.********

Things I still need

skimmer. I think I want to go with a swc after all the reading I have been doing

stand. I think I might just build one with a buddy tho.

hood and light hanger.. Thinking of using egg crate stuff for cover. and shelf track that you screw into the back of stand and hook brackets to.

power head would like a hydro 750

pluming parts to make it all work..

So that what I am up to on here..

THANKS

No not yet I figure I got a ways to go before I even set up the system as I am still missing important parts. And the wife and I are going to house shopping here over the next few months. And I don't want to set it all up and then tear it down to move it a few months later. my goal for now is to get all the parts I need and get it put up and water test it and figure out the whole sump thing cause I am a bit worried about making a mess in the house. (never had one before and not sure about alot of things. I keep reading lots of stuff on them so that helps)Then wait to buy a place and move tank setup in and start it from there.

thanks for all the welcomes

no pics yet as the set up is still along way from being a full set up..lol

but if you have your heart set on some I might be able to take some of what I have so far...

If you want to build a stand then this is a good place to start

skimmer- I would just look for a good deal on a used one. this hobby is full of people getting in and out. very few things hold value.

I am in the start of my tank after many years off and I feel like I did a good job on setup and price. What you get though should depend on how much you want to spend. I found some great products for good prices and i feel my system will be setup well.

thanks for the info..

ya i was thinking of doing the notched 4x4 corners type thing which I think I prob will still do cause I like the look of the corners of the stand wrapping the corners of the tank look..

I have lots of power tools and a buddy that is a carpenter by trade to watch over me..lol
