well i personally love them for the cash...
licenced by deltec to manufacture an older design, the DAS skimmers are assembled and glued in texas from imported parts. they use the aquabee nw pumps that deltec and h&s use with a slight modification to the needle wheel for u.s. power... i say mesh mod it anyway if you get one.
but pretty much all the design quality of a deltec with 90% of the build quality at less than half the cost...so good deal
f.y.i. you get about 750lph out of a mesh modded ab 2000/1
the outlet is the limiting factor @ 1/2"

dealing with the shipping of pet o rama can be funky, but just be very explicit that they MUST take the skimmer apart and wrap each piece in bubble wrap and pack in peanuts, and pay for the 2 day shipping and you should be fine. or if you want the single pump model then order it from orca.

Thanks for any feedback in advance. With a rather large bio-load and a tiny sump and no fuge I am looking for a great skimmer. Just not tomorrow.

Thanks, how do you think they perform compared to the Tunze? Bx1 vs 9010

out of the box the tunze will outskim the bx-1, but if you mesh mod the bx-1 then it will outskim the the 9010. the DAS skimmers have more dwell time than the tunze, and a larger mixing chamber, upgraded with mesh mod, they work a little better.

if you have a 5x5 area in your sump you can fit the tunze 9010,
$327, great for a 90g.
