I'm in the process of setting up a RO/DI system to prevent adding any more Nitrates to my tank after discovering nitrates in my tap water. The nest step will be to setup a good sump system to remove the nitrates already in the tank or being added by the inhabitants.
My question is; once a sump is setup, does the need for the HOB filters go away? AKA, the sump takes the place of the HOB? Or, do you run the hob and the sump at the same time?
