I have recently purchased an Eshopps HOB 150g skimmer and installed it on my 50g FOWLR setup. The skimmate runs great, but I find that there are too many bubbles entering the main tank. The skimmer hangs on the back of the tank, intaking water and placing it right back into the display. The problem is that there are waaaay too many microbubbles, which could lead to some issues if my fish end up ingesting them.

There is no sump in this setup, so I can't run the output somewhere else. Are there any options to reduce the bubbles in the main tank?

I have the same one and broke it in for a week and it runs great. . . Did you put the foam piece on the outlet. That will kill a lot of the bubbles.

i had the same issues with mine a while ago. i just made a little box with a sponge on the bottom of it. and it cleared it right up
