What HOB skimmer is good but will not cost allot of money.

I used the red sea prizm HOB for about 3 years on my 75 mixed reef/small fish tank. I had no problems with dozens of corals and several fish, but I did waterchanges once or twice a week.

It is about $100 at Marine Depot. They also sell a add on now that lets you actually skim from the top of your water instead of from a few inches below. It is about $30. I've never bought the attachement as it wasn't available when I bought mine, but I would get it for that price.

I don't think many people on here use HOB.

I tried a Jebo once, and no matter how low or high the air was it would come pouring over eventually. Not sure if it was just mine, but I wasn't happy with it. Just my $.02

my first was a seaclown. second was a remora. still not good enough! then a wm h2x and i havent got it yet. do the research and save alot of money

A 50G tank 250ish. I have an Octopus HOB skimmer which is ok for now but if I add a anymore fish or maybe soft corals.
