how do i set up a hob coralife 65 skimmer

I bought a coralife 65 skimmer from a guy on cl,the prob is I don't have the instructions,I've never set up a skimmer,I placed it in the tank and it over flowed,the pump and other hose were down in the tank pretty low.the other hose not the pump was blowing crazy bubbles in the tank,can someone please explain how to install it or tell me what I'm doing wrong,the guy I got it from used it in his sump.I really want to get it installed tonite after work,my water quality is not to good even after wc's.I still have a fluval c5 hob filter should I slowly remove the biomedia once its installed or will it be fine to just remove it,if someone could help me I would be very thankful.

I had one of these that my bro gave me when I first started. Wasn't able to get it to put out too many bubbles, but maybe something was wrong with the needle-wheel on mine. Not sure, ended up replacing it.
