So I'm in a studio here in Seattle while studying at UW, and my tank is here as well. I'l definitely planning to be away from my tank for a couple days at a time when I go home for holidays and etc. My tank is only 7.5g and so very minimal food is required (maybe only 20 tiny pellets) per day.

How should I go about in this situation? I have the top off situation figured out, but not the feeding...

Advice would be great, Thanks.

That isnt a bad idea, but are there auto feeders that only feed a tiny little pinch? Thats what I was worried about when it came to auto feeders.

No but you can block the door opening with tape. It will take some experimenting but will work.

Thier is a cylinder one (cant remember the name) but it rotates and then dumps whatever food is in the little tray section. All you would have to do is to put the desired ammount into each tray and then no problemo. I believe id does 14 days??

Check some of the sponcers forums or local most will have it.

I may still have my old auto feeder. If I can find it it's yours. It has 20-30 hoppers that you fill with the dry food of your choice, then set a timer so that it rotates and drops the contents of the hopper. You can do once a day or multiple times per day depending on the number of times you set.

I'll take a look when I get home. If I find it I'll PM you and you can swing by.

If Mike can not find the one he has, I have one of the rotating ones you can have.
I work just down the street from UW. You can come by and get it. Battery operated and works.

Tike!, its been a long time my friend! Those were my very active days, I had allll the time in the world to trade and try and buy sunset and purple monster :)

I'm actually got direct admission into Biochem, and I also chose to minor in earth space science. Currently pre-med because UW doesnt have an undergrad med program :doubt:

How are you these days? Is the tank still chuggn along?

That would be perfect! I'll have to let you know what my plans are for auto feeding, but I'd gladly give you some green for it in trade :)

And, I haven't found mine yet. Found some plumbing bits and other stuff but no feeder. I must have tossed at some point in the past.

BTW...you should come over and join Paul. He's eating chocolate chip cookies and playing monopoly. Good times!

Ahh, okay thanks for the effort though, Mike. I would gladly stop by, but I wouldn't want to ruin Paul and Tammy's romantic gathering with cookies and monopoly for added intimacy :p

I am meeting someone at barrier tomorrow or sunday, not sure which. I will bring it with me. I'll let you know what time when I hear back from the other person.

Hmm, I am actually going back to UW tomorrow around noon, Could I possibly drop by on monday or tuesday? I get out of class at 330pm, so anytime after that I could bike over.

Hey Cwazy,

I remember buying a small sunset from you at the Sammamish Safeway!

Yep the Eheim auto feeder works great for small pellets. As Don said, close the door almost all the way shut and then put a piece of tape across most of it. Then experiment by manually dumping food into your hand. It will take a bit to adjust to get it right but this feeder is wonderful. Highly recommend it. If you get one I would advise replacing the batteries that come with it because mine lasted only a about a week. Good new batteries last several months. I use mine all the time whether I am home or away. I manually feed frozen and flakes to augment.

Go Dawgs! I am a ME alum.
