how to attach feather duster to rocks?

i just got a pretty big feather duster from my lfs. all is well but i just have him buried in my substrate for now. i see many of pics with them on rocks and stuff i was just wondering if they grow from the rock or if you can attach them to rocks.

If you slide them into a hole in the rocks they will cement themselves in a day or two. Be sure it's where you want it though as they can be impossible to remove later.
