Just made this today when i was bored.

basically:15 %water change
leave mixed new water for 2 days with no lid on
temperature matched
salinity 1.025
normally drain it from the sump and replaced new water to the sump
should be good to go,,have fun

Very good tips, Dang what is "leave mixed new water for 2 days with no lid on" for anway? mine salt mixing container is outdoor and it might be filled up with fresh water again when raining

I just thought id make a vid to show newbees what equipment is involved to keep a reef tank visually. Thanks, of course everyone has there own way, this way is just convenient for me.

Ya why the no lid on? I have a lid on mine to keep out contaminants.

You guys do 2 days? Damn, I only wait about 6 hours. But I guess I am only mixing 5 gallons though, and using an 850gph circulation pump to mix.

I left the lid off when I mixed my water to help with gas exchange while the salt is mixing in the water.

I also would let my water run for a week or two.

I dunno, I wipe town the tub after every water change..
