How to get coral beauty eating?

i recently acquired a coral beauty. can anyone give advice for getting it to eat, and how long before i worry that it is not eating.

If you just acquired this fish then it should be in quarantine. You can speed the recovery process and help the fish to recover normal osmotic balance after stress by reducing the salinity. A salinity of 14ppt (not Specific Gravity) is preferrable. You need a refractometer to measure the salinity accurately enough for this. Once the fish has recovered it's normal hydromineral balance it will be much more likely to begin to eat. Check the pH daily in hyposalinity. Start moving the salinity back to normal a week before you put the fish in the display tank.
