I've got a 240 gallon soon to be reef tsnk and im looking to improve my filtration. right now i have a TLF 550 phosban, Aqua c ev-240 skimmer and a chaeto filled 40 gallon refugium.
Thanks!

Quality live rock, with quality flow is about the best filtration you can get, on a reef tank. A skimmer and refugium increases quality of filtration.

In your case, it looks like you have all the bases covered, as long as you have a good quantity of quality live rock and good, random flow, through that live rock.

A Deep Sand Bed, in your refugium, would help with denitrification. I assume you use the phosban reactor, as a way of running phosban or carbon?

I agree totally with Sid...Not much more you can add, but mechanical filtration which some people implement in the form of filter pads/sponges/socks etc but they can work against you if not taken care of properly (which is why I just skip that step) so consider your options beforehand. One of the most important things though is VERY GOOD husbandry (tank maintenance) which is probably the most important aspect of keeping and maintaining a tank. Make sure to stay on top of water changes, changing out filter media (ie carbon, phosban etc) and so forth.

Just a few additional thoughts :)

I would upsize the sump if you could more water means more chances of catching an issue I always beileved more water better stability. sump skimmer carbon and also GFO will all help live rock I am not sure what Quality live rock is live rock is live rock rather 2 bucks a lbs to 12 bucks a lbs BRS= bulk reef supply has some nice dead rock that will be come live over time and you actually get dollar for dollar a LBS not wet weight. no pest of any sort on it also.
