Yelling doesn't help My copperband butterfly was nipping at certain corals in my tank... I decided to get rid of the corals and keep the fish You can cover the coral with a plastic strawberry basket to protect the coral...but ultimately you'll have to decide which will stay.
However, when my powder blue tang started chomping on my frog spawn, I chose to get rid of the fish.
Both fish get fed VERY well with a large variety of nori, frozen mush, cyclop-eze, and different store bought frozen foods. They are both very fat and sassy
The diet of butterfly fish in the wild are coral polyps, they are only doing what comes naturally to them. Most who have reef tanks do not keep butterfly fish.
They are the one certain thing that these fish will go after....coral polyps.
1. Get rid of the coral
2. Get rid of the butterfly fish
Before I even bought a fish or coral I read lots of books and talked to my friend who advised me on what to get and not to get. Now if I see anything saying "use caution" I would not recommend it. I know you want to keep both but all the fish I wanted ate coral I have none of the fish.
