I came out of a rock today.. ID me!

so i bought a decent seeded live rock for my 30 gallon as soon as i placed it into the tank things started coming out of it. this looks like some sort of starfish to me but moves like an octopus haha im hoping someone can tell me what species it is so i can learn more about them.

i realise the first one is blurry but i had to get close its only about the size of a quarter

That is a mini brittle star. Excellent critter as part of a clean up crew.

there was two of them i cant seem to find the others and i also found some button polyps in there as well

They will typically stay in holes and in the rock, stick their legs out when you are feeding and catch food. Most of the time you will never see them. Until they spawn and freak you out.
Check out this thread. They spawn pretty frequently.

oh crap! is that how the reproduce? so when I pulled all the legs of one they were not going to turn into 8 more stars huh? lol! ( just kidding)

Yeah I started with 2, and I'm up to about 6 now. They are cool I think. It's fun to watch them all stick their legs out when I'm feeding my coral and clown
