I have been watching a critter on the rock for a couple of weeks not and have not seen another one in the tank. I have not added anything that could have even remotely housed a hitchhiker like this in a couple of years. It looks like a clam and moves like a clam. It’s about ¾ inch long and blue in color. The shell is white and it appears to be long ways into the rock like we are looking at on side of it, not the top view, I thing.

Picture would help, but yeah sounds like a clam. You will find them in rock quite often. Great filter feeders.

Pretty COOL Erik, at first was sure you had one of the ordinary Boring Clams but after looking at pics... thinking you just might have a baby Tridacna... Didn't you have a big T. derasa spawn in your tank a while back ??? or am I thinking about someone elses ???

Cheers, Todd

By the way that large clam died a while back because I introduced some toxic salt water into the tank. Fact it killed pretty much everything in the tank except for the fish. If it was there I'm surprised it would've survived through that

Nooooooooooo big Bertha is gone. NOOOOOOOOO. Alright I am done. Sorry to hear about the loss, but glad to see the tank is back. Definitely looks like a boring clam to me. Not boring like dull but boring like it only has the one side of the shell and it sits on the side of some rock kind of boring.

Sweet looking hitchhiker. +1 to the boring clam. I had a few but they all had brown mantles, and were boring in both senses of the word.
