I went to PSAS and took a look, it doesn't look good. It appears to have bored a hole through the montipora.

Lorrie, go to PSAS and take a look, a much better picture. He has a link on his post. Looks like some kind of worm that bored a hole.

It looks like a type of Saccoglossus worm. I dont think it will hurt the coral, any more than it has, but I'd keep a good eye on it. If it gets any worse, I would remove it. But it is a cool part of the marine system.
