So I tested my pH in my DT and it has tested to about 7.9-8.0. I have had this tank for over two years and have never buffered it higher. All corals, snails and other things are doing fine and growing. Just wondering if having a low pH is harmful?

don't feel bad - with my CA reactor always running mine barely ever breaks 8 either... usually its steady, 7.9-8...

What do your other parameters test at?? Maybe an inbalance in CA/ALK/MG is keeping it down and a slight dosing correction could pop you up to that idea range..

Also, what are you testing with? Do you trust it??

Honestly I dont test at all. I know I have a poor habit in reef keeping. But I do a 5 gallon water change a week on a 72 gallon which I think keeps everything stable for the most part.

I was testing with API.
