Looking to buy a new camera and was wondering if this is a good one?
Canon EOS Rebel T3i DSLR 18MP Camera w/ 2 Lenses & Bag

I like the camera, but doesn't like the lenses package with it. Ok to start but once u up grade the lenses you will never go back to the package lenses again. So may start with a good lenses and the body so you don't have to upgrade.

Which two lenses does it come with? I bought my wife the T4i and its a real nice SLR for us. We are far from professional and it is more than we will likely ever need.

Thats a good price. I have something similar to the two lenses it comes with from our first canon purchase but they arent ideal. I cant guarantee but I believe they are both 58mm . The T4i came with a 18-135 x 62mm lens which is far superior and more verstile than the first pair.
Any new DSLR body will make you very happy with photography but most of it is in the lenses.

Try giving these guys a call. They are local and from what I hear one of the best stores in the Seattle area. They might have something on sale that isnt on their web site.

Yup like trido said, its the lenses. So spent time to find which type lenses you need, and get the good one for it. I'm very happy with my tamron F2.8.

Thx I_S, it's good to know other brands of lens that are as good as the named brand that can be used. And it's de good sense as to what Trido said. I've been reviewing what exactly will I be using the camera for (more in detail) to choose the best lens.

Ok I received the T3i and I'm loving it!!! Question:
What are your setting when you do Macro photos of corals?

It all depends on the lighting. I typically set the WB to "shade"(because I'm too lazy to set the WB perfectly and only post here as opposed to framing and hanging them) and then adjust the shutter speed and F stop different for every coral and/or picture. then I take about 100 pictures and keep ten if I'm lucky.

Thats so funny because i took a 100+ yesterday and was only happy with 7 of them. Thanks Trido i guess is all about the playing around and a few camera classes.
