Is this normal?

I was mixing some salt and accidentally left my maxijet1200 in a 5gal bucket overnight w/ no heater or anything else and found the water temperature at 85 degrees in the bucket. I've been told that maxijet give off a little heat. would this be normal?

what was the room temp? dont forget that moving water in a bucket causes friction which causes heat so not too out of place...whats good is now you know you dont need an extra heater for water prep.

Hey Josh, the MJ pumps I was using kept my water warn enough to put in the tank without heating it.

Try having a tank you planned on putting corals in sitting at 84F! Luckily it was only in a bucket! I've had a JBJ powerhead do that to me before. It raised the temp 3 degrees. Never with a maxi jet though...
